Pregnancy and parenting is life-changing. While it can be a time of joy and love, it can also bring unexpected challenges, especially when it comes to your mental health. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or struggling with postpartum anxiety or depression due to fluctuating hormones, you’re not alone.
Whether you need expert guidance, local services or simply reassurance that what you’re feeling is valid, postpartumcare.ca was designed to make finding help simple and to ensure you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
This website was co-developed based on research led by a dedicated team at the Women’s Health Research Institute, and with insights from BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre (BCWH) clinical experts. Study findings exposed a critical need: new parents, often exhausted and overwhelmed, need easy access to clear, reliable and region-specific support.
Our journey to create this resource could not have been possible without partnership. Partners in developing this site are the Women’s Health Research Institute, BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre, BC Women’s Health Foundation and the University of British Columbia. Importantly, the development of this resource was made possible through the generous support of the Diamond Foundation and Gillespie Family Foundation, ensuring new parents have access to the information and support they need.
